and the ASP WQS 4-Star Xcel Pro enjoyed great waves and some stellar performances. Big ups to Joel Centeio on his last minute victory, and we’ve seen him jump up the ranks a bit too. Following the meteoric rise of reigning
ASP World Junior Champion and record-breaking ASP WQS points leader, Jordy Smith, the entire world will have its eyes fixed on the hallowed sands of Narrabeen this January to see who will be the next torch-bearer at the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships. Following a full season of hard-fought regional ASP Pro Junior Tours, the qualifiers have been decided and the battle for the undisputed ASP World Junior Champion will surely provide some fireworks.

Hawaii has been long-touted as the epicenter of the surfing world.
The birthplace of popular surfing, the Mecca for big-wave bravado, Hawaii is the rite of passage for all up-and-coming professionals. And the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing is the arena in which our gladiators do battle. With three events running from the ASP WQS 6-Star Prime at the Reef Haleiwa Pro to the ASP WQS 6-Star Prime at the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach to the season-ending Billabong Pipeline Masters, the Vans Triple Crown is a fitting finish to the ASP season. Day 1 of the waiting period is today so buckle up!

O’Neill SI Pro Upgrades
No rest for the wicked, the say,
and the hard-fighting campaigners on the ASP WQS will open up the season with a bang in 2008. Just a scant three weeks from the season-closing O’Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach, the opening event of the season, the O’Neill SI Pro presented by Ron Jon, has upgraded from a 4-Star to a 5-Star, which will mean that the race for the 2009 qualifying spots will waste no time in getting underway.
