Former finalist at the Billabong Pro Tahiti, Damien Hobgood, has come full circle to defeat a devastatingly in-form Mick Fanning to claim this year's title.

After a slow start, the two went tit-for-tat with the lead seesawing back and forth as sets poured in. Paddle battles, broken boards, incredible tubes - the final had it all and Damo is a deserving champion.
